I have recently bought a genesis fortitude race with a 1 x10 set up, 11-36, and a chain guide. If I buy a nw chain ring and clutch rear mech, can i remove the chain guide? And do I need a special chain or will any 10 speed chain work. Thanks
Never bothered with a chain guide and have yet to drop a chain. Any 10spd chain will be fine.

Any ten speed chain is fine and you will likely not need a guide.
I've been without one for ages now and never dropped.
I just use an oval narrow wide chain ring, no clutch mech. Only xc on nothing rough but I've jet to drop a chain. A clutch mech does quieten things down though
I've left the clutch off & done a few runs at BPW.
