Anyone done 1 x 10? thinking about giving it a go, i find im not changing my front much at all. how have you got along with it? what gear do i need? i know some people use chain guides and upgrade the front chain ring
the big benifit for me going to one up front is running a chain guide.
do you need to have a chain guide?
Do a search. There are LOADS of 1x10 / 1x9 threads. I tried it and didn't like it. Now i run 2x10. 42/32 suits my riding much better.

you dont need chain guide but its a lot better to have one. hope are bring them out with intergrated bash guard. thay might even be out
and you will find when you have no front shifter your chain will come off a lot more
Its a lot easier than 33-16.
I had 30 gears, went down to 2x10 a while back and looking at going 1x10 soon with a 33t front. I think big steep climbs I'll suffer but it will work me harder to get my fitness up, also I do more down than up really.
I'm goon for SRAM x0 DH cranks, renthal 33t chain ring and Mrp g2 mini
paul you could just file the granny ring tabs off and will work fine with chain device no need for new crankI'm goon for SRAM x0 DH cranks
