I’ve completed my first brake bleed with an XT kit. I’ve been out on trails and the brake is working perfectly.

However it was very difficult syringing the fluid up into the cable and I had to apply a lot of pressure. It took about 15 mins for the new fluid to appear at the top. I would have thought it would have gone in more easily

Any suggestions for my next effort….. thanks

If the brake was working perfectly, why bleed it? I appreciate the wish to do stuff to bikes for fun but I’d recommend leaving brakes alone unless it’s been ages and you are going to send an alp.

I meant it was working fine after the bleed.  It was soft before which is the reason I took it on

Open the nut a good turn if the newer style sunken nut instead  of the protruding nut and the plunge bit on the funnel is fully pulled out
