We're looking to replace my wife's Spesh Myka 26" with a 29er HT. Budget £1k-ish, it's for easy XC stuff and local bridleways with an occasional trail centre red route.
What do you recommend?

What height is she - does it need to be female specific?

I built up a clockwork 129 for my other half last year using mostly new and parts with a brand x finishing kit and rebas at this time last year, it came in at under £1000 and she’s a much better more confident rider on it than she was on her old bike (shorter female specific with 27.5 wheels) I’m sure whatever you go for she will love it.

@ahsat - 5ft6in with long torso and shortish legs.

Doesn't need to be female specific, it just needs to fit.

@demonracer - We're not building a bike as we're both useless and don't have any parts to use 🤦

@elshalimo how about a Norco Fluid HT? They seemed like a good spec for the price a year ago, I think there was one at around £700 and then closer to £1000. From what I remember the geometry was close to the orange she ended up with.

Thanks, we'll take a look.

I think the hardest thing is finding something in stock to sit on
