just read an article on bike radar about Bjarne Ris and doping, it mentions that he was stripped of the title as a result. Just been looking at the results.. who can actually be declared the winner.

Jan Ulrich second, Richard Virenque third, Laurent Dufaux Fourth...

the Tour de France organisers don't consider him the winner anymore but the UCI havent formally stripped him of the title so havent been able to declare another winner.

Zabel also admitted to doping in 1996 too so the green jersey is also sort of 'vacant'

He's still the winner according to the [url= http://www.letour.fr/2011/TDF/HISTO/us/palmares.html ]TdF website[/url]. I think he "came clean" about his doping just after the time limit when they could officially strip him of the title.
