I'm in the mood for a dropper and was thinking of getting a £175 Reverb (non-stealth). Original plan was to get a Fox DOSS for about the same price from the LBS, but I wasn't quick enough and they've all gone.

At this price will the Reverb be the older design?

Am I going to be subjecting myself to a life of component failure misery?

From merlin? They are full retail models so have warranty. I have sent 2 back now under warranty and got brand new ones back. The main problem with the A2 post is the sagging.

Winstanley's or Merlin. Don't know which model it is.

What is the failure rate on these things? You only hear when they break but I assume that there are plenty that don't.

Just received my warranty replacement B1 post. It was a replacement for sagging seatpost. The new post is double the price of the post I sent away.

I'm happy

Got mine from bikediscount.De

It's the older one but was cheaper than uk.

Though that was before last week's monumental balls up

I got an older silver collared Reverb 18 months ago from Canyon when they were selling them off for £110. Much to my surprise it's been fine.

OEM models have warranty. Any model bought from anywhere within the EU is entitled to warranty under EU law (so another loss if/when we leave).

Still though, have had two from Alltricks in France and were full boxed retail versions with bleed kit. Other one I've got came from bike-discount.de and was oem.

Don't know about UK ones but there's a chap in Italy that sells refurbished reverbs, I get the impression he gets boxes full of broken ones from rockshox and puts them together til he has some that work 😆
