Unexpected 17 days off...in Feb, beginning March.

Nothing planned as yet.

Long distance walk, Morroco for mountains, long distance bike ride?

Where or what would you go/do?

Somewhere warm with road or mtb bike or both if I could afford it

Tbh it depends on your situation

If you have no commitments and enough cash spare, warm and MTB. New Zealand is very nice at this time of year. 🙂

Off to Morroco myself at the end of the month, so obviously gets my vote, althought my trip is for my wife's bithday (see that counts as a commitment, so the spare cash becomes irrelevant). 🙁

Obviously a 17 day orgy of sex, drugs and internet shopping?

I have comittments...well to my partner who I would love to join me but alas cant get time off.

Funnily enough all my family live in NZ and we were supposed to be going there in Jan...but t'other half struggled to get time off/ funds.

Im tempted..and normally go every year...but its a lot of dosh for a month. And there are sooo many other places I would love to explore.

Me is thinking Morroco..£140 rtn on selected dates...

Anyone been with the bike?

I quite fancy dragging the bike up to the summit of Toubkal 😆

I don't think you'd get up or down Toubkhal with a bike, large section of the climb has great big boulders that you have to use your hands to climb over and scramble.

Plenty of really good riding in the surrounding areas though. Great thing about Morocco is that you can be in mountains in snow one day and in the desert in sand the next.

I've never been to Morocco but a few mates went. There's a write up in the Singletrack mag from a few months ago, that'll have some info in it I guess. That would be a good plan I reckon.

Just checked out flights to NZ...£1095, cant afford that tbh.

Coastal path sounds v appealing actually...but wrong time of year me thinks, plus would be nice to get away from the UK for a bit.

Morroco at mo...are easyjet ok with bikes? Shame its on my tod but I realy don't want to be sat on the sofa eating wotsits for the sake of solo travel.

Yep I've flown Easy jet with a bike bag, no problems. There's a 30kg weight limit so my DH bike and kit was borderline. Trail bike should be fine I'd have thought.
