Anyone know if these are in the pipeline? (cy? )

Reading the development,I know that it wasn't thought to work, but just wondered with their popularity and 29ers in general whether one is on its way?

IIRC, Cy blogged that a 16" 29er wouldn't be fun to ride. Shame - the Solaris would have been high on my list. I think there were two prototypes made.

I saw a lady out riding the other day at Glentress on a small 29er. Too much wheel with the other bits that make up a bike jammed in. The boost in enjoyment / performance would have to be significant to own something that looks that bad.

Paul's been riding a small Solaris prototype recently. He raved about it's "steamroller" abilities but it doesn't really suit his riding-style (think "circus-skills" playful and jumpy). I think they're changing the geometry from that prototype anyway.

As above, in the feature in the last (?) mag where Cy and Dom from Upgrade have a ride, there was mention in there of a few small (16"?) prototypes being worked on...

Here you go http://www.cotic.co.uk/news/

Scroll down to 30/4/12 ( I can't find a way of linking to it).

Paul's a really talented and able rider, with a trials background, so he can and does move a bike around a lot when riding. He just can't with the 29er, so he doesn't like it. It's not as much fun as the 26" bike. The interesting thing is that once people are this kind of height, the 29" almost seem to define the use of the bike as something quite different to a 26" bike. If Paul wanted a light, comfortable, efficient thing for crossing a map, then the 29er would be good. For having fun and generally enjoying riding bikes, you won't be that surprised to hear he's back on his Soul.
I'd want "a light, comfortable, efficient thing for crossing a map" 😆
