What - Short of buying the proper tool which I'll probably only use twice - is the accepted method of seating one?
1.125 was perfect with a bit of 30mm pollypipe but I think 40mm waste pipe will be too brittle for the 1.5 race.
I'm not over keen on the idea of smacking things with a lump of wood/hammer on opposite sides, so what's the upmarket ghetto tool? Or do I just take it to the lbs and try not to offend them when I ask them to "fix " the stuff I didn't buy from them.
Just cut lengthwise slots in the end of the 30mm pipe to allow it to flare out as you push it down the steerer?
Cunning!
