Anyone know of such a thing? The thought occurs it would solve all the (alleged?) issues with discs, QR skewers & rigid forks.

I'm working on one for release this autumn. It'll be carbon too.

Will there be a tapered steerer option?

Hi Mogsuncle.

You emailed me, but I thought i'd reply here.

>Have you got any further details on this (estimated price, weight limit, release date, etc)?

Price - circa £200-£250ish
weight limit = none
release date = about 3-4 months.

Cheers Brant. So are those your forks badged X-Lite in the link paulS posted? Your profile says you design for several companies but not that one.

Brant - will it be tandem rated? I know of folk who have been looking for a rigid thru axle fork for MTB tandems to use when touring

Yes - The X-Lite forks and the Ragley forks share the same mold and inner construction, though the Ragley ones gain a double ply Kevlar layer on the outside cos I wanted that for a trail fork.

I've updated my "designs for..." in my profile, and sorry for the confusion.

It's not tandem rated as the amount of force you can generate braking hard on a tandem is ludicrous and I just don't fancy doing the sums or the tests. I'm sure they'd be fine, but I'd rather not go recommending them to people for that purpose.

Fair enough brant. I'm sure you would sell one or two of them which would make it all worth while 🙂

Watching the forks on our bike bend a couple of inches under braking is rather frightening

Okay. Apologies for the cheeky comment about the colour scheme! Are there any plans for a more 'understated' looking version?!

So, er, what happened with the 15mm bolt through carbon forks? All I can find online are new stories from last year...

on those carbon forks with metal crowns the fork ends just melt off with a bit of heat. stick 15mm pace dropouts on?

What length are those? I've got 440s on a Transition TransAM, the longest 26" forks I could find, and they're too short for a frame designed for suspension forks - BB too low, headangle too steep.

Need 460 or 470mm forks, are these similar?

paulrockliffe, I use Exotic 29er forks for just that reason despite having proper wheels.

Paul, from the blurb: "The XF 11 will come in Short 440mm, Long 455mm and 29er 470mm lengths."

As far as I can see from the CRC listing (to which the image is linked) there are only 455 & 470mm lengths available.

Have also found the Ragley 15mm fork in 440mm - IIRC it's the same mould.
