You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Until recently, I hadn't bought a brand new mountain bike for 13 years - all my gear was 26" and QR dropouts with Fox RLC forks in various lengths.
However, I recently bit the bullet an bought a Vitus Escarpe. Fabulous bike, but no lockout on the 150mm Rockshox Revelation Charger RC fork - I had naively expected this to be a standard feature on any air spring fork.
Any suggestions as to a good lightweight 150mm fork with a lockout? Or are these no longer a thing?
I do a few epic local routes which involve some long road and firetrail climbs where this would save me a lot of puff for the more fun bits. I also plan to use the bike for some ultralight bike packing, where this would also be useful.
cheers
Does the fork have easily adjustable compression damping? Few forks outside XC racing bother with an actual lockout, but you can achieve pretty much the same thing by whacking on a load of compression damping when you hit a road section.
I know very little about sus. forks I'm afraid, but there do seem to be a variety of aftermarket dampers available; would you be able to get something with a lockout for your Revelation?
Fox fit4 and grip'1'
As above Fit4 forks have a very firm crown or remote lockout.
