Hi all, I have a specialised enduro with the 142mm+ rear. My freehand is feeling notch / stiff and probably needs replacing. The splines are already missing from the cassette locking mech ( xd driver ) so would need a new cassette as well .I'm thinking it might be cheaper just go get a complete wheel. Thing is , can I fit a normal 142mm axles wheel ?

You can fit a 142mm wheel to your bike, but I don't think a 142+ works in anything non specialized. The + bit from memory refers to moving the cassette by a few mm, not the actual width of the axle.

If fitted a 142 Chris King hub into a stump jumper which comes with 142+ oe wheels in the past with no problems

We are running a mixture of Roval, Hope and DT Swiss hubs and swap them between bikes. All of them seem to work fine. Never had to adjust the mechs. All on XD drivers. The Rovals are 142+ the others 142.

Good .I was hoping it was going to be nice and simple. I've had a quick look and the genuine sram/ royal freehub is £90!!! I'm assuming any xd dt Swiss driver would fit? Is it also possible that the bearings in the freehub could be to blame ? The cassette rotates fine once moving, it is noisy when coasting and is notch on the initial rotation? I have removed the non drive side cap, how do I then remove cassette and freehub assembly?  Cheers, Chris
