whats on offer and how do they differ?
pike?
Revelation
sektor?
Pike = 35mm stanchion, only available in 140mm for 29ers, or OEM on some 27.5 and 26ers.
Revs = 32mm stanchion top end damping and chassis
Sektor = 32mm stanchion cheaper damping and chassis
As far as I know that's how it works
thank you that makes sense.
The sektor chassis can be exactly the same as the Rev one- it's all intercompatible araik but I think there's some sektors with more steel in. The difference between a top end sektor and a bottom end rev is confusingly small tbh.
Pike is easy to shorten but does need either machining or a replacement air thingmy. Revs and Sektors depends on exactly which model/year but afaik all modern ones will shorten and lengthen to 140mm
lyriks are easy to shorten and a lot stiffer than the 32mm chassis. been running mine at 140mm for a long time.
Once i had a good look at the weights between Fox, RS forks etc... the Pikes have been clear winner for me. Little actual increase in weight and by far the best performing fork (which is likely down to the fat legs as much as anything) i have ever used.
Internal travel adjustment is a great plus, allows you to buy the longer fork length you may need and reduce to what you might be running now.
is it not a massive ball ache reducing travel?
what about them bombers?
only ever had experience with XC forks.
