Have a rear eheel with whyte hub from a 2015 t130 (12x142mm thro axle) and want to drop into a 905 frame which is 135mm qr.
I've got the end caps off the axle, drive side is threaded and the other just pushes on and off.
Does anyone know which adaptor kit is needed? I've seen all sorts of variants and most are for specific brands but some after market options exist. Anyone done the same and can advise what kit to use?
Thanks
If it’s anything like my Whyte wheel it’s like a generic formula hub I think
I know Hope can allow different axle sizes but not seen many others offer it
It will be a generic OEM hub from the likes of Formula/JoyTec but you need to find which one as not all adaptors are the same
Thanks guys, there are so many ‘generic kits’ out there but the curve ball is the fact it’s threaded but only on one side. Feels to me like I need a specific kit. Whyte themselves have said they don’t stock anything anymore but search on line! Trial and error I guess!!!
few of the formula hubs require a new axle and you can't get any.
It can be a nightmare getting the right match if you don't buy the adapters with the wheels. Not many people stock these after such a long time.
If you have no other use for the wheels and you want to keep them then you can chop 3.5mm off each side and put one of the below in the hub. It is a bodge but it works as a last resort.
Cheers all, clearly not as straight forward as I'd hoped.
