I've been mixing and matching SRAM and Shimano for years, usually using SRAM chains to make the most of the powerlink. Before I click "buy", can somebody please confirm that SRAM 12spd chains still work with Shimano 12spd drivetrain?

I'm sure it will work OK, but on this occasion supposedly you won't get the HG+ shifting smoothness that 12spd Shimano has.

My latest Shimano chain had a quicklink.

As above, Shimano now have power links and will work better with a Shimano cassette so buying a SRAM chain would be a downgrade in every sense

Yep, needs the shimano chain to benefit from HG+. However, Shimano chain doesn't always play nicely with other chainrings.

yeah it'll work, but I doubt it'll be as quiet or as slick shifting as the shimano one to suit.

It works fine. No noise that I notice. The shift is marginally slower than with Shimano chain but still way quicker and easier under load than SRAM cassette.

I bet that there is no noticeable difference . Sounds pretty much like Shimano trying to sell more chains to me a bit like Mavic only recommending using Mavic tyres with their tubeless road wheels .

There is a big difference in my opinion. Eagle chain on slx m7100 cassette is not in the same league as slx chain on the same cassette...
