I'm feeling a bit left behind by a few of my mud loving brethren in the gearing dept. with only myself being left in 'analouge' mechanical land.

I've sort of deliberately blinkered myself as per normal until these new spangled systems get a few more months of testing by the masses before reading multiple reviews and biting the bullet on the brand of choice. I often use whatever voice of reason to delay this process but the tide is rising daily and being a advocate of tech (and having Reccord EPS on the road bike) my resilance is drowning.

So current set up is 11spd Sram XO/XX1 on a Bird Aeris AM9. What could I keep if upgrading and sticking with Sram? Or is it worth doing the full drivetrain and going Shimano? In for a penny right??...

Any deals about on 12 spd Electronic bits?

Wiggle have a discount on the GX AXS upgrade kit. I got mine for £487. Then you'd need a SRAM NX 11-50 cassette and either NX or GX chain. Going with the NX cassette you can use your existing HG freehub (assuming that is what you have ATM)

That's the setup I've gone for as I am using the NX cassette I took off my turbo . Just waiting on frame and fork to arrive so I can build now

If by "deals" you mean "actually in stock somewhere, anywhere", Tweed Valley Cycles had GX AXS in stock when I was in there a couple of weeks ago. If you mean "less than RRP", good luck with that.

So does the upgrade kit supply the mech as well? I've got a XD driver on my dt240 hubs...

So my front chain ring will be compatible (it's brand new tbh)?

The upgrade kit is shifter, mech, battery and charger, set up tool and multi tool. If you have XD drive you'll need GX Eagle cassette as well as the chain.

The GX AXS upgrade kit is in stock at loads of places and I am sure I have seen something on ebay for under RRP.

get cashback (£36ish) via topcashback

then sell your existing X01/XX1 set up.

My X01 AXS has been faultless

Thanks @bruneep that discount on the XO1 was too good to turn down! Just need to source a 3mm Sram spacer and a dub BB now and I'm winning.

Welcome to digital land to me 😁

@tomahawk
I used a hope BB with the dub adaptor. Rather than the dub BB
