Any ideas on places to go withing the UK where we can get some sort of accommodation and a central base for some riding?
Last year we rented a big house in the Lakes and we had a great time.
Would like to repeat elsewhere.
Going mid May.
Any recommendations?

A mate of mine runs a place just outside of Rhayader in mid-Wales.

Great bunkhouse style accommodation sleeps 16. Bike storage and washing. Drying room. I think he said they charge £19 pppn

Riding in Elan Valley on the doorstep. Bike shop in town. Less than an hour from Nanty. Brecon Beacons less than an hour away. Coedy maybe an hour away. Great road riding too.

Give Anthea at https://www.haltongillbunkbarn.co.uk/ a ring, she'll sort you out. Smack bang in the middle of the dales.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Not sure about Swindon. I don't think us pussies from Harrogate will have enough street cred to survive 😊
1st Scotland link not working.
Trying to sort this out on the phone not ideal so will fire the laptop up tonight.
Regards Steve

We stayed here:

http://www.windways.co.uk/

several years ago for a weekend at Afan. It was looking a little tired, but was very good value for money & a very sociable place to stay
- decent sized lounge with pool table (coin slot)
- large kitchen/diner
- would sleep 12 without too much bother
- wifi (bit patchy)

Stayed at the B&B here http://www.caegwynfarm.co.uk/ a few years ago. Mile or so from CyB, and obviously convenient for loads more round there. Big mix of accommodation to suit all tastes, bike storage, pub reasonably nearby.
