Anyone got any experience about running an 11spd cassette on 10spd hub? I cant change the hub so am thinking of removing the inner most but one cassette ring and then adjusting the derailleur so that it doesnt shift off the cassette and onto the spokes.

any views bad or good welcome...ta

mtb? It's not a problem, running 11 speed on my 9/10 speed freehub.

or do you want to keep the 10 speed shifters and mech - that won't work.

sorry, its a road bike (Kinesis 10spd hub)
Yes I want to keep the 11spd 105 shifters etc, just happy to lose a set of teeth from one ring

doesnt 11spd just fit in the same width with narrower gaps between the cogs?

the 11spd cassette is too wide for the 10spd hub body - cant get the lock ring on

Yes it works fine, I put a 6800 cassette on a hope 10 /9 speed mtb hub, removed the 2nd smallest sprocket (13 tooth) and ran it on my cross bike with 105 sti's, as long as the stop screw is adjusted for the easiest gears it just gives a shift that nothing happens for at the top.

If you want to do a bit of DIY, you can file off (all the way around) a bit of the inner ridge from the freehub body, that will make enough room for the full cassette to fit.

Put my Hope free hub on a lathe. Took about 1 mm off the bits that stop the cassette sliding into the spokes. Works perfectly with 11 speed road cassettes.
