I have either bought an 11sp or been sent an 11sp rear xt mech. As a dinosaur, all my kit is 10sp. will the 11sp rear mech work with my 10sp slx shifter and 10sp xt cassette and chain?

I've got Shimano 10 speed set ups on 2 bikes with 11 speed Slx rear mechs. Works perfectly and means you don't need a Rad cage or goatlink with a wide range cassette.
