Inspiring stuff!
marking for looking at later, love hearing about cycle tours.
Nice work. I may have actually been around the atlantic coast when you rode that way. Didn't see a tandem mind you
Awesome.
That looks like super stuff. Well done 🙂

He's a very lucky lad to have you as a dad.
thats amazing
well done to both of you
I remember minipips at the mega many years ago whizzing around the campsite in Allemont on his balance bike (or was he just toddling then?)
<like>
@kimbers he was still in nappies then. I think his sister had just learned to ride her bike.
He was only asking me the other day as to when he'd be old enough to do the Mega. 😉

And vice versa! Wish my lad was even up for a mini-adventure.
Looking forward ot the rest of the blog post instalments!

What do people do for accommodation on the French divide? Is it pure camping or do folks just do whatever suits?
Great looking trip
Brilliant adventure. Cheers for posting.
What do people do for accommodation on the French divide?
We camped in campsites, and wild camped. Others bivvied, and some people took regular advantage of hotels, though you'd have to do plenty of homework if you were going to rely on hotels.
Excellent!
Thanks for that. It didn't look as if people were carrying much so I wondered. Inspirational stuff really
Great stuff 🙂
I'm sharing this with the mini_oab's in an attempt to inspire them.
There'll be an epilogue at some stage, but I'm done for now. 🙂

Outstanding, I love a blog with pics and cycles:). As other parents will say great to inspire, not quite sure my teenager would do all that on a bike with her Dad through.
Chateau to you both.
Gear and a warning.

Great stuff & thanks for sharing!
Awesome stuff! Any thoughts on the French Divide route bike-wise? Seemed to be a bit of everything at the start line. I've nabbed the GPX files and fancy giving it a go slow-time next year.
Gear and a warning.
Yes, I swapped my shoes to ones with a neoprene ankle boot just before a tour. I had worn them on day rides before, but they weren't my usual shoe. Nearly ended my tore as they aggrevated my Achilles so much.

Yep, there was everything from CX bikes clad in file treads to fat bikes.
I reckon an MTB with a fastish rolling tyre.
I'll be perusing these over wine tonight, well done both of you
