Love this bike but I've noticed the last couple of times I've removed the rear wheel that when reinstalling it, themselves side stay seems flexy and doesn't sit properly to seat the axle. If the bike is upright it won't match up and then screw in. Upside down it works but I need to work the axle into the thread. Im certain it didn't do this when new. Dropouts are tight and I can't detect and loose bearings.

Any one else's 146 do this? Woke up this morning convinced it was cracked but no idea how or where...I'm the lamest rider out so not been due to extreme stuff. Once parenting duties are over im off to wash the bike and have a look in case it is a crack but I don't believe it is (even though I woke up convinced).

Cheers.

Maybe check the bushings/bearings as the lifetime warrantied ones give up shortly after any kind of dirty ride.

Really? I've been riding various Whytes with the same bearings since 2000ish and I've not had to trouble the lifetime warranty yet 🙄

Maybe it's the newer model versions as if you do a search on here, it will throw up loads of unhappy customers with similar problem if it is to do with bearings in this case.

🙄 back at you.

I only ride Whyte 19 ti but know folk who have ridden e120s with loads of issues and even 456 with minor bearing issues.

Not the bushings/bearings as far as I can tell...they got replaced about 9 months ago with the 'fixed' bearings...bike has had very course use since then...regular but low mileage.

Have you checked the axle and hub/bearings?

Try putting the axle through without the wheel in to see if it makes a difference.

I had my first frame replaced due to the cosmetic crack (Had no other problems & would have kept it tbh) It was replaced with a 146X frame. after the first few rides the linkage worked loose so I've put some thread lock on and its been fine since.

I think alot of the issues people have had with these frames is the lack of maintenance regards the linkage.
