Aren't 11 speed chains narrower than 10 speed? If so I doubt that the link will fit

Probably won't die, but may be in for a long walk as above.

11spd is narrower than 10 speed... may not work

As above, 11spd chains are narrower than 10spd. You won't be able to do the link up.
Been there, walked home.

Isn't it just the plates that are narrower? I think the spacing between the plates is the same. Might be wrong though!

Inner width is unchanged, outer width is narrower. So an 11sp link could possibly work.

been there done that

iirc the link went on but was very stiff and the chain kept skipping at that point, or did I get chain suck, can't quite recall - something like that.
