Anyone using Dura-ace 11 or Ultegra 6800 on Hope hubs.
I have an existing Pro 3 hub but waiting on Hope 11sp body's to come into stock.
Been told by Hope some cassettes might clash with the spokes.
Only 11/32 and possibly 11/28 will clear.
Have a 11/28 ready to go on.Just wanting some confirmation it will work before I gather the cash for another hub and rebuild! 🙁
Thanx,
Max

No I sold my pro 3 wheels(was keen to keep as they were sweet) but used hype money to buy a set of carbon clinchers from wheelsfar with an 11 speed hub..

Hope have a new road hub, faster pick-up etc. due out at end of October.

The current hub works with 11 speed in the wider ration cassettes, as mentioned.

The new hub will work with all 11 speed cassette ratios, and has been designed with this in mind. The hub shell is different, moves the drive side spoke flange inboard relative to the cassette, so there is more clearance.

if you're unsure, you could always lace up the drive side elbows in with a 2x pattern and a normal 3x on non drive side. Should give you a tiny bit more clearance.

I had lengthy chat with hope and was told it wouldn't work.. I've heard of various bodging to sort of get it working but
Not for me.. New wheels or await new hope free hub is my advice 🙂

I also had a lengthy chat and was told it would work, they have a new 11 speed free hub but only with a cassette bigger than a 25, as this contacts the spokes.
Once my ultegra di2 group set turns up I'll order the free hub and hope for the best!

Yeah, spoke to Hope a while ago and was told the 11-28 would work.
My recent chat with one guy there said it would only work with 11-32?
Might chance it though as just got the wheel set up up tubeless with latex as well!
Thanx,
Max

Any news on this?
My 11-28 ultegra arrives tomorrow, will I need a new free hub?
Wheels are hope pro 2 / mavic open pro

Spoken to hope, the hub isn't compatible and can't swap free hub body.
But I asked if I could take out one of the loose cogs and run 10 speed, he said maybe.
So here's hoping I don't need to shell out for a wheel.
I'm not fussed about having 11 speed, but bought 6800 ultegra as it was cheapest ultegra at the mo.

To run 11 speed shimano, buy a campag freehub body & 11 speed cassette.

Nice one.
Does it still shift nicely?

Not done it myself, but evidence from the interwebs is that it works fine - the campag cassette spacing is so close to shimano that it makes no practical difference.

Yeah, it looks fine, now just need to shell out more dosh.
I might lose a cog and spacer it, see how that works first.

Just to clarify my wheel worked out fine.
Bought one of the freehub body's Hope we're not releasing due to clashing with spokes.
They were waiting to redesign hub before releasing it.
Spoke to them nicely and told to try it at my own risk.
Worked out fine, shifting nicely now for a few months.
Running a 11/28 cassette with plenty of room round spokes.
Of cause your wheel might differ but I thought it was worth the gamble.
Thanx,
Max
