Anyone started to make these yet?
Was hoping that someone like Sunrace would have made one by now .
cheers
No
Why would anyone want to make an 11sp micro spline?
For a smaller cog and corresponding smaller front chainring?
Because they have a microspline hub already that can't be converted?
Because they want all their rear wheels to have the same freehub?
Because they want a lighter cassette + freehub combo without freehub gouging?
On a similar unlikely note, I want a 12 speed microspline cassette with an 11t or 12t small cog.
[ I've stuck with HG by the way ... but having more options available on Microspline makes just as much sense as having all the options we already have for HG or XD ]
Less niche: someone with a perfectly functioning 11 speed set-up needs a new rear wheel and wants to buy into current/future hub standards without buying a whole new 12 speed setup. Or is even actively avoiding 12 speed because of anecdotal indexing faffery.
That does seem a bit schizophrenic though @montgomery. "I want this bit of new fangled tech that was specifically designed for 12sp, although I don't actually want 12sp, what I want is to bodge an 11sp onto it, even though there are free-hubs available specifically designed for 11sp..."
Does seem a wee bit - dare I say, bloody minded?
No. Are there many wheelsets available with a microspline body that you can't get an XD one for?
I have a couple of 142mm Shimano hub rear wheels (ie no other freehub possible at any cost). I bought/built them for an older hardtail. Although I still use them on that (yeah, both, reasons), I did mentally bet that 12 speed GRX would use microspline too, and that grav bikes would stay 142 so they would have a future. So far so good, that bet won.
That said, it would be handy to be able to use them on my 11 speed CX and grav bike too...
So, long winded way of saying +1.
I don't think you can change the hub body to something else on Shimano micropspline hubs, other hub manufacturers you can choose XD, HG or microspline. I've got 2x 10-51 and would like the option for something like a 11-44 12 speed cassette, or someone might prefer 10-40 12 speed. I very rarely use the 10t & 51t sprockets. Shimano only have microspline hub bodies for these hubs.
I think someone will produce 10 & 11 microspline speed cassettes as there is demand for it, after trying 10-51 12 speed a lot people realise they don't need all those gears
Shimano did produce a 11 speed microspline cassette but not available at the moment. It was spaced the same as 12 speed and you needed a 12 speed shifter which was switchable between 11 & 12 speed

I could see the need for one. I want to upgrade wheels + drivetrain but being a tight ar$e I can't afford to go 12spd in one go so get the wheels + MS hub and 11spd cassette - then upgrade to 12spd once I've worn out the cassette, and don't want the hassle of swapping freehubs.
Note, I'm still on 11spd. I've not gone road tubeless for similar reasons as I've a perfectly good pair of tubed carbon wheels and if I want to upgrade my wheels - I'd want them disk braked and that would mean a whole new frame....
