Can I use a SLX cassette with my GX mech and shifter?
Off-hand they seem cheaper and if wear is the reason I'm getting gear issues, the SRAM cassette is not lasting at all well compared to my previous shimano drive trains.

Yes, if your freehub allows you to fit the SLX cassette.

Yes you can. But if you currently have a GX cassette, then you probably have an XD freehub.
And GX 11s Cassettes tend to last much longer than any other brand Shimano included.
