Hiya, quick question, will my M7000 11 speed rear mech work with 10 speed shifters? I didn't think so but the Deore M5120 Shadow plus is 10/11-speed! Thanks
Yes, I built my daughter's bike up that way, with what was hanging around the spares bin. Shifts well.
I have the Deore 10/11 speed on my hardtail with 10spds and it is the best shifting of all my bikes.(with a Zee 10spd shifter)
The distance the rear mech moves is in accordance with the shifter, and as long as the chain link width is not widely away from a 11 speed chain, it should work okay.

Yes. I run two of those 11-speed SLX mechs, one with a 10-speed Saint shifter, one with an SLX 10-speed, both work fine.
I have a bit of a mix and match. some bikes run 10 speed Xt mech, 10 speed cassette and SRAM 11 seed shifter, other has the same sram shifter on a 11 speed XT mech and 10 speed cassette.
so Shimano 10 and 11 speed shifters and mechs are interchangable. SRAM 11 speed shifters work with shimano 10 and 11, but SRAM 10 speed shifters don't..
