My XT (M785) outer chain ring is looking a little worse for wear, what would you recommend, I currently run a 38 tooth outer?

Shimano cost a fortune, uberbike are pretty decent. You could try going 1x10?
I run 38/24 and 38/26 on mine...never really needed 40.
I'm going to try 32t and 34t narrow wide ring 1x10 with clutch mechs.

The SLX ones are about £20 delivered from bike24.de
I got a SLX 38t and a 24t for £30 delivered the other week
