It doesn't look bad but bearing in mind it's a full price bike from a big name manufacturer there's probably better deals around. Doesn't seem to be a huge amount of bikes on sale that I can see right now but here's a few other suggestions around the same price (not recommending them as I haven't ridden any of them):

That Cannondale doesn’t look too bad for the money actually. I don’t know how the Judy compares to the Recon on the other bikes linked above - I’ve always assumed they’re fairly similar. A Reba is a step up on the Boardman I think.

Are you specifically looking for a 29er or is a 27.5 wheel size bike an option too? If you find something in a sale you might be able to squeeze in a Revelation fork for that price and maybe NX Eagle - but you’ll have to look hard for that I reckon. I think new 2020 bikes will be released soon so sales could be about to start.

Paul’s bikes often have some good bargains so it might be worth a look at their website.

Thanks for the feedback. Was originally thinking of 29er but open to 27.5. My last and only experience to date after all is 26.

The pinnacle looks like it could be an option with dropper seat too. The boardman also looks good spec wise but.... I don’t know, just loath to buy from Halfords ha. I’m also unsure on the difference between the recon and Judy as to which is better. It had also crossed my mind that the 2020 bikes are starting to drop so some sales could follow with summer ending too?

27.5 and a cheaper Deore spec are available too.

Ditto Fourfivesixfiftyb, Calibre Bossnut looks hard to beat at the price point.

I had looked at the sentier but out of stock. The bossnut looks good value but after a hardtail rather than full suss

I like the look of the 2020 orbea laufy for £1100 . The new on ones should be available soon and the scandal might suit but I’m guessing at full build prices .

Pinnacle iroko is a stonking bike I have one. I originally bought it for full xt groupset and was planning to upgrade to a boutique frame. After riding it I didn’t need to 🙂

Think the iroko maybe an option. I do like the look also of the orbea as a 29er. What are thoughts on spec of the base orbea?
Thanks
