Pants that are claimed to last for 100 years, be fire proof and water resistant! A snip at £500!
My wife pointed out if a pair of levis that last me a year or so cost £100 it would actually make these decent value.
I wonder how long before the same stuff in the jackets, dyeenma, makes its way in to bike clothes? It's tough stuff, I wonder if it's light and breathable enough to cycle in? That for cut resistance with some d30 pads for the ultamite protective gear?
Dyneema Composite Fibre is very light. You might know it as Cuben Fibre. It's used to make tarps, bivvy bags, rucksacks, bike bags and more.

those pants? no chance - not in 100 years !

Sunweb.
Pockets on the front of the thigh? Christ that would be annoying.
They are not pants, but trousers.

Where does Sir buy his undertrousers from?
Am I along in thinking that, actually, they look quite cool? I like the idea of 'go anywhere, do anything' clothing, and to be honest, the shape looks quite adventure-y too. I imagine they would actually transcend changes in fashion. If I had £500 lying around, I would be quite tempted.

What do you wear underneath them?

Old men always think this and are frequently disabused of this fanciful notion by more sensible women.
They're an OK pair of outdoorish pants, but £500? Nah.

Are you spying on me? 😉
I am old and live with a sensible woman.

So the future has already happened without me noticing!
(Posted from a small lump of glass plastic and electronics that allows me to communicate with an imaginably huge number of people. But that is just normal!)
If it was the same abrasion resistance in something that looked like a basic pair of jeans , I'd be in!
😂 I’m out. Aside from £500 (!), they’re styled like some sort of dodgy jodhpurs. Poppers for the waist band? No thanks. Schoeller make some great fabrics but I’m not convinced that outdoor trousers need to be fireproof. And those thigh pockets remind me of some of the less stylish Fjallraven hunting trousers.
Also I’m not so sure about the double-layer seat arithmetic. Once one layer has gone through you’ve got a hole in your trousers that you need to fix.
£100 for a pair of Levi’s that last a year? Yikes. That seems expensive compared to these.

I can't see a button or cheap metal clip holding up 100 years, press studs will unpop and protect themselves after a big sunday roast 🙂
The ankles will survive crampon spikes...but how about a hem shredding encounter with your big ring when riding to your outdoorsy job? A seat that will sit and unsit for 100 years, but will it survive pedalling on a saddle for 10?
