Helping a mate convert his old triple to one by on a 2013 Scott Genius. After a couple of rides he has decided he needs a bigger cassette. So the Sunrace MX3 11-46 is the choice. For those that know do you need anything else - Goatlink has been mentioned......

I've a similar set-up.

I used Goatlink & an extra long b screw just in case - seems fine.

FYI Goatlink says it wont work with a non-clutch mech, it does.

Narrow wide chainring. I have 1x10 on my gravelly bike - Sunrace MX3 11-40, KMC chanin, XT long cage mech, and one of these:

cheaper than a goat link, does the same thing

Or use a 11spd mech

You can use a Shimano medium cage XT derailleur with an 11-42T cassette (because I just fitted a Sunrace 11-42T cassette this morning 🙂 ) Certainly the SLX will handle 46T, as that's on my wife's bike, and I think the XT will as well, there's plenty of room on the b-screw with mine. No Goat link required (as yet)
