Is this possible. I'm sure some of the canyon road bikes come with SLX cassettes as standard. Is the limiting factor the size of the rear mech, or are the pull ratios non compatible?

My planet x came with an optional Mtb cassette. Rear mech is SRAM Rival.

Iirc wiggo used an xt cassette in the mountain stages of the tour last year. But yeah the mech will be the limiting factor. That and your ability to stand the shame and derisory comments when folk notice your dinner plate sized rear sprockets.

Shimano 10 speed you have to use a 9 speed mtb mech (XT works well) on a triple for mtb rear cassette. New 105 mech will go up to 11-32 on a double.

Sram wifli mech do 11-32 but the mtb mech have the same pull so you can go up to 12-36.

I struggle to believe wiggo used a XT cassette, Not least because XTR is lighter. I don't even believe he used XTR.....what's your source, fevered imagination?!
