I'm looking at getting a new drivetrain for my MTB. Already got a 1x setup but the range is only 34t at the large end which becomes difficult after a while. Looking at the new Shimano M4100 groupset for the:
and 11 - 46 Cassette https://www.bikester.co.uk/shimano-deore-cs-m4100-cassette-10-speed-1236285.html
but I need a derailleur and can't seem to find the M4100 variant. Is there an alternativen derailleur from Shimano or Sram that would work at the same budget? Otherwise an alternative groupset?
Thanks, Belgian
Shimano's groupset lineup for M4100 says to use the RD-M5120 for 1x10:

I have a similar set up ony bike but the Deore cassette was out of stock so used the Sunrace which is fine. I used a Deore derailleur with an eBay goatlink and it shifts the best out of my 3 mtbs
Just bumping this back up to ask if i could use said M5120 derailleur with a 10 speed shimano shifter like this:
Thanks
Yes, any 10 speed Shimano shifter should work with the M5120 rear mech
If you are buying a 10 speed shimano shifter buy a saint one. It’s the best. I took slx 11 speed off my hardtail and replaced it with 10 so I could keep using that shifter.
