I know its been asked before, and read on loads of forums this and that, but will a 10 speed chain run on a 11 speed cassette and be reliable ?.

Yes.
I run 10spd chains with m8000 cassette.

That's great news,as I run an 8000 too,thx teethgrinder,I take it no snagging ?,& smooth changes etc ?.

Worked great for me. No obvious difference to using an 11spd chain.

not all 10spd chains are the same width either. 10spd Wipperman will fit a 11spd KMC powerlink, for instance.

Did it on SRAM 11 when it first came out. Works fine, but is a bit noisier.
