Currently bike has a Shimano XT781 Shadow clutch long cage rear mech and a 11-36 XT cassette, 32t ring up front. Could do with a lower bottom gear sometimes, will the MS3 or MX3 10 speed Sunrace 11-42t cassette be okay for this or too much for it, maybe their 11-40t better? Any tips appreciated.

Also, on ebay there are very similar looking cassettes with the name 'sunshine' as opposed to sunrace, a fair bit cheaper, any good?

Not sure about Sunshine but Sunrace have a good reputation - you might as well go 42t. Others will know more but that mech may or may not work with the cassette. It sometimes requires a goat link and/or a longer b-screw.

Had the exact same setup, went 40T as I'm a lazy git but from my googlefu at the time I could have gotten a longer B screw and it be ok.
