I'm in! Did it for the first time this year and loved it- great weekend and I made it round in one piece
- not including 3 flats and an over the bars moment between stages!

Entered! This is my first Ard Rock, due to work I can only compete on the Sunday, I've gone for a middle start time, will that be good enough? Will there be plenty there that haven't practiced on the Saturday! Haha.

Middle start time for me on the Sunday too bennyb. Don't worry about not practicing, there will be lots of fold there who haven't.

I've booked grinton YHA, a load of my mates going to the ard rock as a stag, camping might be rather loud!.

I thought it was midnight tonight, not last night. Fortunately I managed to get a place this morning in the Sat all mountain race and the Sun main event. My first Enduro, goggles and open face lid from now on.

It sort of all is?

It's not a mass start, and you will not be allowed to enter a timed section immediately behind your mate - 30s gap between riders seems the norm.

It's all chip timed not gated, so you beep a little tag on your wrist at the start and finish, and at the top and bottom of any timed stages. This means that so long as you don't blow the entire time budget and find yourself still on the course 5.5 hours (I think) after starting, you can roll up to stages in your own sweet time and go as soon as anyone who was already waiting has gone rather than chasing transition times and minding potential penalities for missing your gate time...

I've entered the sunday, but did I need to enter Saturday too then to be aloud to practice?

No, if you've entered the big event, practice is included.

Clearly the £54 entry fee wasn't too steep after all 😉

I'm on the waiting list. Too slow 🙂
Thinking of dragging the family camping along to this one, they really enjoyed this years Mach Howies Enduro. Loads of stuff to do for family and not far from CyB for blue trail fun. Whats a fmaily got to do at 'Ard Rock? Is there much on locally for them to get upto? Wife and (will be almost) 7 year old.

Thanks

Nope, well unless they like walking in the countryside and looking round very small villages.

Anyone know what times would constitute Early/Middle/Late starts? I'm already receiving protestations at my desire to start early!!

I think earliest start was 9am this year.

I choose early rather than middle this time just in case it rains before/during again. It got pretty muddy and slippy in some sections after a couple of hundred tyres had churned it up.

There was an update on facebook today. Looks like some of the cancelled places have been allocated.
