2015 Liv Intrigue Small/16″ (27.5″)

My partner bought this in 2021 and she has absolutely loved riding it all over the place, however, I’ve just bought her a lightweight eeb so this needs to go. I’ve done a fair few upgrades and maintained it for her during that time:

  • 1×12 with Deore shifter and mech (although it’s pretty much as XT mech due to adding XT jockey wheels and an XT clutch cover), with a Sunrace 11-51 cassette and a KMC chain (not that old)
  • The shock has been upgraded to an RT3 version (with LS settings); I still have the original shock somewhere which I’ll throw in.
  • The wheels were replaced when she bought it with some Superstar V6 hubs and Stans Crest rims, both set up tubeless.
  • A Token screw-together-press-fit BB, with stainless bearings. The cranks are a bit heavy duty but it’s hard finding 165 cranks secondhand. They’re currently fitted with an AB 32t oval chainring with a Hope bashing.
  • The pivot bearings were replaced in the Spring (with proper MAX fill stainless bearings).
  • The forks and shock were last (fully) serviced a couple of years ago, but the forks have had a full (dual) airspring & lower leg service in the Spring. The shock had some fresh oil & grease in the Spring too.
  • The rear end has been converted to 142×12 (from QR); I still have the original QR drop-outs and axle, somewhere.

Now for a few ‘not so good’ bits:

  • As you might be able to see, the frame and components are showing their age. When she bought it, we tried to tidy up the paintwork and covered a lot of it with some bike shield, which has saved it from further wear.
  • The pedals click/creak. I serviced them in the Spring, which worked for a bit but unfortunately composite pedals don’t last forever.
  • The tyres both have wobbles in the casing. The wheels are definitely straight, it’s just a Maxxis thing. It’s never bothered her.
  • There is a graze to the back of one of the fork stanchions. I’ve no idea when it happened but it’s very superficial.

All in all it’s a top bike, and I’m sure we’ll be sad to see it go. I’m not really sure what the market is like atm, but the price is the price my partner would like for it, ONO. I’ve also got a Maxxis Shorty and a Huck Norris I’ll throw in. Also, if you don’t like the Mudhugger, I can take that off (along with the protective tape).
