Hardline Canyon Gap Jump Is Out

Hardline Canyon Gap Jump Is Out

We’ve been informed by a source at the event that the organisers have decided not to include the canyon gap jump as part of the Red Bull Hardline course.

The news comes in the wake of a very close call during testing where rider Jim Monro separated from his bike on the takeoff and crashed into the landing zone, leaving him with a concussion.

No netting was installed below the gap, which caused a great deal of comment from riders and watchers.

This is a developing story and we’ll update with further details when we get them.

A poll of our readers earlier showed most were in favour of the gap jump only being included in the event with a safety net installed. It should be noted that Jim Monro’s concussion would not have been prevented by such a net as he made it across the gap, albeit not on his bike.
