For the first time ever, the Bespoked Bike Show has left the UK and is taking place in Dresden, Germany. From 13th-15th October, people are able to go and peruse gorgeous hand built bikes and accessories, and chat to their makers. Sadly we couldn’t make the trip this year, so we’re bringing a taste of the show to these pages. Maybe it’ll make you wish you were there enough to get organised for next time.
A Nordic mythology inspired gearbox mountain bike with pipe holder… we can’t help but wonder if this is what Brage Vestavik might choose for a quick pop out to the shops?
Bididu Ragnarök

Ante Thoelkes is based in Luxembourg and builds bikes from steel. He prefers to build mountain bikes, but he also builds gravel bikes if they suit his preferences. One look at this bike, and you may not be surprised about his favourite aspect of the build process:
‘Bending the tubes and fitting these tubes. think the top tube and the three-dimensionally curved seat stays. I like well-fitting fillets!’

This Ragnarök is a hardtail built on the customer’s request ‘to match Nordic mythology and geometry requirements.’
- Frame material: Steel
- Construction method: Brazed
- Wheelsize & max tyre clearance: 27.5 / 3

Most challenging part of the build?:
All tube-bends flow into one another. The top tube consists of 4 different dia-tubes. The seat stays are 3-dimensionally shaped. The Pinion bracket is self-designed and laser-cut from Hardox steel. A sensor for using an additional electric drive “add-e” is integrated into the chainstay and it also has a pipe holder 😉

Feature you’re most pleased with?:
Top-Tube-shape
Any lessons learnt or things you’d do differently next time?:
Simple is not easy and easy is not simple.
