Behind the scenes: Do A Wheelie with Danny MacAskill

One of the highlights of the Kendal Mountain Festival Bike Night was the behind the scenes film looking at the making of Danny MacAskill’s ‘Do A Wheelie‘ video. If you missed catching it there – or just want another viewing of this feel good film – then it’s out on YouTube tonight, along with a live Q&A with Mr MacAlltheskills himself.

It turns out that wheelies are not Danny’s strongest point, and it’s a lot of fun to watch him being humble and impressed by a whole array of riders who have some incredible wheelie skills. As is often the case, the ‘making of’ video is quite possibly even better than the finished product.

We thought they’re shellfish, which are probably best avoided if they’re warm and glowing…anyway…fill your boots, warm your cockles, and go ride your bike).

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
