Tweed Valley
So good, it’s the host venue for the UK round of the EWS, many pros have moved there, and the Tweed Valley has become an internationally recognised destination. There are trails for every level of rider, and trails on almost every hillside. Each spot within the valley offers a slightly different flavour of riding – some are almost impossibly steep sinews of trail through rooty forests, while others take in more air time, or take you on long pedals across rolling hills. It’s a playground with something for every season, every tyre width, and every type of rider. What do you mean, you’ve not been?
Dunkeld & Birnam
If you’ve had enough of the Tweed Valley, this is becoming the place to go. It’s the place where the pros move to after they’ve moved to the Tweed Valley. A little quieter (for now) but with a massive network of trails, there is enough riding here to keep the visitor coming back, again and again. Plenty of super technical trails for those that want to push their limits, but less mapped out than much of the Tweed Valley. Heading to Dunkeld and Birnham feels like finding trail treasure over and over.
Revolution Bike Park
Never dry, never dull! ‘Revs’ (as it is known by most regular visitors) is an uplift spot in a great area of North Wales that feels very ‘Euro alpine’. There are no easy-easy tracks at Revs, and it’s a popular practice place with UK’s World Cup DH racers, but don’t let all that put you off going. If you can get down a Black run at the milder UK trail centres, there’s plenty of stuff for you at Revs. You can get a whole load of proper alps-style descending done in one visit. Just take a change of clothes for half-time.
