Some things don’t change. Singletrack World Magazine and Singletrackworld.com have still been filled with great images. Which snapper has consistently delivered the goods?
JP Gendron
Red Bull Rampage must be one of the most photographed mountain biking events of the year. Endless shots of riders throwing shapes against a backdrop of towering red ridges and blue skies. To take photographs that stand out from the crowd takes some doing, but JP managed it for our web feature from 2021’s event. His shots conveyed the scale and the tension of the event in a way that made us pause. Is it a trick of the light, or a trick in amazing light? Among all those there to capture the moments, we think JP did a great job – perhaps you agree?
Katie Lozancich
Our cover photographer for Issue 146 and the Red Bull Formation feature inside, Katie Lozancich’s photos capture people’s emotions as well as epic riding. To see beyond the riding and into the emotions is no mean feat when helmets and goggles cover so much, and stunning scenery can easily distract. Katie’s photos bear closer inspection, look behind the dust and sweat and catch the smiles, stress and relief of all at this freeride camp. Does all that emotion move you to give her your vote?
Pete Scullion
Inside the pages of Singletrack most issues, and outside on the cover nearly as often, Pete Scullion is a man who knows how to capture a big sky. His ‘Art of the Photograph’ feature showed readers just how much knowledge and effort goes into being in the right place at the right time. It’s not luck that has him hunkered on a mountain just as that shaft of sunlight breaks through the clouds right there. There are few that put in the big mountain days needed to put great images into your hands. Will you reward his efforts with your vote?
