We’ll be heading along to Bespoked in London for 14-16th October to check out all the hand built bikes and chat to their makers. It’s being billed as ‘a celebration of hand made bicycles and the people who make them’. With talks, races and presentations, it promises to be worth going to even if you’ve no intention of buying anything more than a coffee.
Some of the show’s exhibitors have sent us information about some of the bikes you can see there – hopefully it’s just enough to get you curious enough to buy yourself a ticket and come along. See you there!
Variangle Mk5
An aluminium anodised adjustable front geometry full suspension mountain bike

- Builder: Peter Charnaud
- Web address: Variangle.com
- Price: £6,500
- Frame material: Aluminium
- Construction method: Tig welded
- Wheelsize: 650b

Brighton based Peter has been building bikes for ten years, working in aluminium and carbon fibre. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve likely seen his Variangle bikes with on-the-fly adjustable head angles before. This is the Mk5 iteration of the Variangle.
Peter’s favourite part of the build process is making the rotational front headstock and then the first test ride. His favourite feature of the bike is that the wheelbase changes shifting the centre of gravity rearwards for downhill with slacker fork angles, and forwards for uphill with steeper angles and shorter wheelbase.
