It’s the MTB World Championships this week over in Les Gets, France. Here’s a simple guide as to when things are happening and who’s racing for Great Britain. And who’s not.

August 27 – Men’s Downhill World Championship
August 28 – Women’s Cross-Country World Championship

Great Britain Cycling Team
British Cycling listed the 42 riders who will be competing. Included in the team is Olympic champ Tom Pidcock, current XC world champ Evie Richards and two-time DH world champ Danny Hart. Oh and Tahnée Seagrave is making a return to elite racing too.
Evie Richards said: “I just absolutely can’t wait to be honest. Winning the World Championships in 2021 was such an incredible moment for me and since then, I’ve had a really tough year with injury and illness and haven’t been feeling my best.
“The recent Commonwealth Games win was a real boost to my confidence. This is a great course and I’m ready to just get on my bike, enjoy the race and hopefully come away with the rainbow jersey.”
