Hope has released a new wheel, the Fortus 30 SC. SC stands for Single Cavity, so unlike the Fortus 30 – which is aimed at ebikes and Downhill – the SC forgoes the internal rim structure, saving you 100g and giving you a trail/enduro wheel. In other respects, the Fortus 30 SC is the same as the original Fortus 30 – an alloy rim with 32 spoke holes, recommended for tyres 2.4 – 2.8in wide.
There’s no song and dance about the launch of these – we were shown them in a quiet corner of Bespoked – but they’re available to order via your local bike shop and their Hope B2B access now. Available in 29 and 27.5in, they’re £100 per rim, or £170 front/ £290 rear with a Hope Pro 4 hub.
Hope is still busily working away keeping components coming. With social distancing restrictions in place to make sure they stay open and keep product flowing, you probably won’t manage to take a factory tour. Luckily, we’ve been, so you can view behind the scenes from the comfort of your sofa.
