Readers’ Rides | Anthony’s Zoceli Naosm 29

What are you all riding? This is where we find out! You send us your submissions, and then we cast our judgemental expert lustful eyes over them and bring them to the world to ooh and ahh over. We’re picking the prettiest, the most curious, and the ones with a good story for you to appraise, praise, and maybe look wistfully at.

This week it’s a bike that we’re getting the blame/credit for Anthony having to buy: a Zoceli Naosm 29. Steel full suspension with some interesting tubing going on. If Santa Cruz made the Forth Rail Bridge…?

So long it’s wider than the camera?

Why this bike?

I saw your article on ‘if Santa cruz made steel bikes’ and fell in love with it. Found Martin (from Zoceli) on Instagram, emailed him and that was pretty much that.

The hardest thing was actually building it. A few parts from friends (wheels and brakes), and a master builder in Alex Gray makes riding it unreal.

It’s shorter this way round.

This bike just won’t stay in shot.

Or maybe Anthony is in too much of a hurry to have more fun to be faffing with photos?

Just caught it before it rolled off into the sunset.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
