EWS Postpones First Three Rounds of 2022

EWS Postpones First Three Rounds of 2022

Due to Covid, the Enduro World Series has made the decision to postpone the first three rounds of the season in 2022. The EWS made the announcement following a meeting with local organisers. It seems we aren’t out of the woods yet, with the situation with Covid constantly changing. There may well be more changes to how events are managed for the next few years, especially where travel is concerned. Here’s how the EWS will adapt for 2022.

EWS Updates 2022 Calendar

The press release reads:

The Enduro World Series (EWS) today announces that the first three rounds of 2022 will not go ahead as scheduled.

Due to the evolving COVID situation in Australia and New Zealand, the EWS, along with the local organising committees, have agreed the rounds scheduled to take place in Nelson and Tasmania can not proceed as planned.

The hope is that the situation improves enough to return to each of the venues in 2023, with a decision made in January 2022. The rest of the 2022 EWS and EWS-E calendar will continue as planned.

We’re obviously disappointed not to be visiting New Zealand and Tasmania in 2022, but it’s the right decision in light of the current situation.

I personally thank the hard work and support of our Nelson and Tasmanian organisers. We look forward to bringing the EWS back to those venues as soon as possible.

EWS 2022 Calendar

The EWS announced its 2022 calendar earlier this year, with plans to make next season their biggest to date. With the first three rounds cancelled, the first round will be in the Tweed Valley, Scotland in June.

EWS 2022

Nelson was bursting with excitement at the prospect of the EWS being held here.  New trails have been built and we will have new infrastructure in place for all mountain bikers. The course was going to showcase the best we have to offer, which is unique to anywhere else in the world. We look forward to working with EWS to plan an event in the future. It will be a truly world event that everyone can attend without restrictions.

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.
