Naughty Northumbrian Returns for 2021

Naughty Northumbrian Returns for 2021

If you’re eager to test your skill and rusty from lack of racing, the Naughty Northumbrian is back this August.

With six stages, rated a black 3 bar event on the EWS enduro event grading system, it’s not an easy event. However, if you want to escape to a remote location for some time away, this event might be for you.

Not an easy feat.

The press release reads:

The Naughty Northumbrian, held in the stunningly rugged and remote Northumberland National Park, will return on August 27th-30th 2021.

Attracting 784 competitors in 2019, the event went on pause in 2020. This brief rest has allowed for the build team of Carl Davison and Phil Grimes to work on some truly special stages for 2021. Hand-built between the confines of Kidland plantation and the deceptively high rolling hills of the Cheviots, the trails have attracted riders from Italy, Germany and France, as well as more exotic areas such as Cramlington, Wooler and Yorkshire. As you may have guessed, the riding is serious, but the vibe is laid back.

With a cinema night, beer from just down the road, great local food and camping all back on the menu, the local community, who were consulted extensively, have welcomed the event back with open arms for 2021.

Based out of Clennell Hall Farm in the remote Upper Coquet Valley, with a population density of 1 person per sq km, the nature of the event dictates that riders must be up for a challenge and prepared to tackle some steep terrain. But the rewards are huge grins and a well-respected badge of honour.

Not too good about writing about myself, but not so bad at writing about other things. There was a time that I hated bikes, but then they became my life. Wouldn't be the person I am if I hadn't been on this journey. Here's to bikes, drinking tea and everything that comes with life on two wheels. I'm Lauren, I like bikes and writing about them. Always trying my best and up for adventures.
