I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.

  1. What an absolute legend Alan Millyard is, the original genius man in a shed. I’m in awe of him, changing a lightbulb is an engineering feat to me whilst he knocks up a 6 cylinder Z1, a v8 motorbike and builds his own suspension system for mtb before I’ve worked out how to get the bulbs out of the plastic wrapping!!!

  2. @augustuswindsock I gather he does all that without even sketching anything, just designing in his head. He also seems to manage without a vast amount of workshop equipment too.
