2021 Marin Alpine Trail Carbon Launches Today

There are a lot of bike launches going on at the moment, but there’s always room for one from Marin, which, despite its Californian roots, always has the UK in mind when designing its bikes, whether that’s in keeping lots of mud clearance, or in pushing for slacker (and steeper) angles on its aggressive trail bikes – like here on the new-to-carbon 2021 Marin Alpine Trail Carbon.

Alpine Trail Carbon C1 and C2 builds

The Alpine Trail has been around in alloy form this year, but this new addition brings the stiffness and weight relief of carbon fibre. The Alpine Trail Carbon is intended ‘for big mountain days where travel and geometry matter most’. And that geometry is based on a pair of 29in wheels and very modern angles of a 63.5° head angle and 78° seat angle. The bike is set up for a 160mm travel fork and features 150mm of MultiTrac rear suspension

There will be two Marin Carbon Trail build options – the C1 and C2 (with the C2 being the fancier one). The C1 build features a Yairi 160mm fork, a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock and a mostly Deore build, while the C2 boasts a Fox 38 Performance Elite, a Fox DPX2 shock and an XT/SLX mix of components. Both builds, as you might expect come with four pot Shimano brakes.

Alpine Trail Carbon will be available in 2 build options and there is talk of a frame-only option.
