There are many benefits to being a Singletrack subscriber… For a start, and most obviously, you’ll get every issue of Singletrack through your letterbox every other month, but you’ll also get good prices on everything we sell – from coffee to T-shirts to hipflasks and books.

But now, there’s another benefit…
Booze!

The Lakes Distillery features in the latest issue, issue 130, of Singletrack. In it, Chipps rides from the (beautifully croissant-equipped café) onto nearby Skiddaw for a ride that, for want of a better explanation, encompasses all that is, er, invigorating about the Lake District in the Spring. Namely; astounding views, frozen fingers, amazing views, great trails, and lost limbs due to either snow or sideways hail… before trying to make it back before dark to a fire and some crumpets.
The Lakes Distillery staff seemed unmoved by the arrival of chilled mountain bikers in their midst, as befits a small, rural company on a tiny B-road, somewhere in the Lakes. Their staff are all Lakeland locals and they know that you don’t get a reward without a bit of suffering.

Anyway, the Lakes Distillery was so happy to be included in the feature in the current issue of Singletrack that they suggested a special reward for subscribers of Singletrack in the form of a temporary special offer of a chunky discount of 20% off any of its products.

It’s that simple! If you can read this bit, then your Singletrack Subscription entitles you to 20% off anything, ANYTHING! from lakesdistillery.com
(Small print, which isn’t very long: Applicable to 70cl bottles only, only works for April 2020, and a minimum spend of £24.)

“Hi, this is Chipps here, Editor and general alcohol taster here at Singletrack. Now you wouldn’t want any old untested, 20% off booze offer, so I’m lucky that I got to sample a few of the beverages while shooting this month’s feature. And here are my brief tasting notes:

Gin: Just yes. It’s a lovely gin that you need to just add the minimum amount of tonic to taste.
Vodka: If you’ve not had nice vodka neat out of the freezer. Start here. And then move onto bloody Marys. And that’s just breakfast. We should mention that this was voted The Best Vodka In The World at the World at the Vodka Awards in 2019. We’re not sure you can actually rank higher…

There is a Salted Caramel vodka and an Espresso Vodka there too. I hear that the distillery staff refer to them as the ‘Hen Party’ blends, but hey, who doesn’t love a hen party, eh?
Whisky: If you can get hold of their Whiskymaker’s Reserve, then do. Batch 1 sold out quickly and Batch 2 had sold out by the time I got there, but there are occasionally the odd foreign cases that are returned, so keep an eye open. Batch 3 is dropping soon apparently. I’ve not tried the blends yet.”

Anyway, that’s just his thoughts. If you’ve tried them already, let us know in the comments. Or if you get some through this offer, come back and let us know what you reckon.
Here you go. Here is your Singletrack Subscriber Special Voucher Code:
20STLKS
(Put it in at the end of the checkout experience and it should give you a blanket 20% off your purchase. That’s Lakes Distillery, and us, saying thank you and ‘cheers!’. Don’t be sharing it around, though, it’s just for you subscribers…)
And, in better days, if you do get a chance to visit the distillery, perhaps for a coffee and a croissant, and a bike ride, give them our regards!

“no”
“oh…”
Cracking.
I visited the distillery last Summer for a tour and a taste.
Thank goodness I wasn’t driving home.
We’re supposed to be on the gin cruise in June , with them, that’s being run on Ulswater.
The first picture I think it was 30c + last time I was there, never have I been more happy to find a Lakeland stream and stick my head in the cool running water 🙂
Anyway I have really taken advantage of that offer & if I ever get any time off work (no chance at the moment) 1 im going to enjoy a drink or 6 and 2 I’m off to the lakes 🙂
Thankfully only just an hour from home 😀
That is too good an offer to pass up! Ordered some fancy looking gin for my wife’s birthday. Nice one, STW! 🙂
I’ve personally tested that the code works… ahem.
nice one – booze now in the post
Doesn’t ‘Best vodka in the US’ outrank ‘best in the world’..?
This could be a difficult decision..,
Was planning to visit when we would have been in The Lakes last week. Hopefully ordering something via the link helps the distillery and Singletrack through the current crisis so that they are both around next Easter when we will be back to visit.
